The Argentine Association of Theatre and Music Critics (APTRA) will add a new chapter to its awards calendar with the debut of the 'Martin Fierro Dance', a federal, necessary, and inclusive award that aims to become a classic within the Argentine artistic circuit. The ceremony will take place at the Golden Center this Sunday, promising glamour, established stars, and an unprecedented showcase to honor talent from across the country. The event will begin at 19:30 with a red carpet to welcome the 1,200 guests of this first edition. As each winner is announced, a video showcasing their artistic work will be projected. The initiative was born from Karina Armendáriz, who has spent years traveling the country searching for talents for international dance leagues. The selection was made through a federal casting by the event's producers and a team of eight coaches. The process began in May, traveled through dozens of cities, and culminated in October. Voting combined the ballots of APTRA members with those of the artistic jury that participated in the selection. Journalists were provided with audiovisual material of each nominee to facilitate evaluation. Among the expected guests are Eleonora Cassano, Hernán Piquín, Cecilia Figaredo, Silvina Escudero, Sofía Macaggi, Aníbal Pachano, and Julieta Poggio, who will receive special mentions for their careers and contribution to the arts. The night will conclude with the presentation of the Golden Martin Fierro. The awards will cover 41 categories, including classical, contemporary, folk, jazz, urban, Latin rhythms, Arabic, flamenco, and Spanish dance, as well as specific awards for soloists, duos, trios, and groups, divided into children's, youth, and adult categories. Unlike other APTRA ceremonies, the association did not compile the nominees this time. Following the event, there will be a cocktail party with live performances until the formal start of the gala at 22:00, which will be broadcast on Canal (á). The ceremony will be hosted by Virginia Gallardo, a recently elected deputy for Corrientes and former dancer, making her an iconic figure to lead the event. One of the most anticipated names will be Julio Bocca, artistic director of the Ballet Estable del Teatro Colón, whose presence has been confirmed by the organization.
